Take part in the Island Charity Swim this May - a stimulating ocean swim that doubles as a fundraiser for Nambour and Currimundi Special schools on the Sunshine Coast.
The swim - which invites both casual and professional swimmers - takes its participants from Mudjimba Beach to Mudjimba Island, also known as Old Woman Island, before finishing at Mooloolaba Beach. The distance totals at 11 kilometres, and can be completed within any time limit.
The Island Charity Swim occurs each year on the Sunshine Coast, and is not only a fantastic cause in raising funds for local special schools, but an exciting personal challenge for those with a passion for ocean swimming. Participants will be pushed to the limits of their endurance, but will also enjoy an exciting and rewarding experience that involves a journey to and from one of the Sunshine Coast’s untouched island paradises.
The Island Charity Swim for 2019 will take place on Sunday, May 11, with an evening briefing on Tuesday, May 7 at the Alexandra Headlands Surf Lifesaving Club. Register to take part in the swim, or come by the Sunshine Coast to see the swimmers off at Mudjimba Beach before they make their return on Mooloolaba Beach.
